Interviewed by Miranda Chun as part of their internship at 516 ARTS, here artist Mallery Quetawki of the Zuni Pueblo speaks on her creative process, motivation and inspiration. With a background in biology and health science, Mallery’s paintings are the result of an amalgamation of experiences of a wide variety. She quite beautifully bridges traditional indigenous ideas and culture with western science and medicine to create works unique to her. There of her paintings are now on view at 516 ARTS, through January 22, 2022
