Free and open to the public

516 ARTS, in collaboration with Española Valley Fiber Arts Center, invites you for a day of free workshops, fun, and learning!

Youth and teens, alongside families and community members of any age, will be welcomed for a Saturday at 516 ARTS, to discover the works in Tania Candiani’s Cromática exhibition, and to learn more about weaving and traditional fiber arts through workshops, and hands on activities.

While 516 ARTS staff members will offer guided visits to the exhibition for participants of any age, Española Valley Fiber Arts Center staff will lead workshops and demonstrations for children and adult on several traditional techniques.

Stop by if you are just curious to know more about the works in the show, or if you want to put your hands on different techniques and learn how to transform fleece into yarn, discover which everyday materials you can use to make colorful threads as natural dyes, to find the weaver within you, or if you are particularly interested in Colcha embroidery, a traditional art specific to New Mexico.
